The From Seed to Spoon (seedtospoon.net) mobile app guides you through planting, growing, harvesting, and preparing 60+ vegetables with planting date recommendations specific to where you live! We'll guide you through all aspects of growing and we'll help you plan out your garden by providing information about which companion plants grow best next to each plant, as well as which plant combinations to avoid! You can also view which pests attack that plant and read about how to deal with them organically as well as learn about how to encourage the good bugs as well! The "How to Start" tab walks you through getting started with growing food. We had no idea where to begin when we started growing food for our family of 6. We've tried pretty much every gardening method and tip we could find in books, videos, and online over the past 3 years. Some of them have worked great, and some of them...not so much. We've taken all that we've learned and built a list of steps for anyone that wants to start growing food. This is just the beginning for us. We have a lot of great ideas about how we can help make the food growing process easier for everyone. About Us Hi, we’re Dale and Carrie Spoonemore, the creators of “From Seed to Spoon.” After two years of research and trial and error, we have learned quite a bit about growing a sustainable food garden in our urban Oklahoman backyard. Now we’re here to help you along your own gardening journey by showing you what we learned! We decided in spring of 2015 that we wanted to try growing most of the vegetables our family of six would eat. Neither of us had much previous experience growing food, and needless to say, we had a lot to learn. We started with a typical Oklahoma Bermuda grass lawn, and over the course of two years, we converted it into an urban backyard food farm. I spent nearly all of my free time over the course of those two years reading books, attending classes, and watching YouTube videos to learn all I could about gardening and growing food. We remember how lost and overwhelmed we felt when we first started, and now we want to share what we’ve learned in hopes of helping others grow food for themselves as well! Abbiamo deciso nella primavera del 2015 che abbiamo voluto provare crescente la maggior parte delle verdure nostra famiglia di sei sarebbe mangiare. Nessuno di noi ha avuto molta esperienza precedente in crescita cibo, e, inutile dirlo, abbiamo avuto molto da imparare. Abbiamo iniziato con una tipica Oklahoma Bermuda prato d'erba, e nel corso di due anni, abbiamo convertito in un podere cortile urbano. Ho passato quasi tutto il mio tempo libero nel corso di questi due anni la lettura di libri, frequentando le lezioni, e guardare i video di YouTube per imparare tutto quello che potevo su giardinaggio e coltivazione di prodotti alimentari. Ricordiamo come perso e sopraffatto ci siamo sentiti quando abbiamo iniziato, e ora vogliamo condividere quello che abbiamo imparato nella speranza di aiutare gli altri a crescere cibo per se stessi, come pure! Crescere il proprio cibo non deve essere difficile e noi siamo qui per aiutarti a crescere cibo in modo efficiente, economico e sostenibile!
